1st March : International Rationalist Day

On this day—1 march 1985, 27 years ago Prabir Ghosh founded the Rationalist Association [Science & Rationalists Association of India or Bharatiya Bigyan O Yuktibadi Samiti].

The organization started its long journey with relentless struggle against superstition and blind faith – its chief aim being a better society without deprivation and economic differences. Spiritualism and religiosity had been used in India as a tool for exploitation for ages. So along with anti-superstition programs, the aim of the organization gradually spread over to a total social philosophy of Neo-socialism. The concept of self-reliant villages and classless democratic societies where people live in self-sufficient communes has gained popularity throughout the world.

Humanists’ Association (HA) is Our wing : Also working for –

  • Human rights: helping with legal assistance.
  • Counseling  people in distress.
  • Propagating eye-donation and body donation for medical use after death.
  • Demanding legitimacy of euthanasia (Mercy killing or willfully accepting death)
  • Free coaching and free dispensaries.

We thank and congratulate all our members and well-wishers on this very special day.

We would also like to appreciate and heartily congratulate all rationalists and secular humanists who are working throughout the world in spreading reason and scientific temper.

Law of cause and effect is the basic law of rationalism. TMC singur movement and nandigram movement both are big flop. Why? What are the causes of these movements? Is it not maintaining farmer-hood of the farmers? Is it not a bogus cause? Can all the farmers remain as farmer after rise in population? What are the effects of these movements? Bad effect? Loss of life! Loss of property! A common bad effect in any movement! But good effects of a movement help us to ignore the bad effect! What are the good effects of these movements? Nothing! So, a movement whose cause is bogus and good effect is nil is a flop movement. This is the definition. What is cause of babri demolition? Bogus stories of Babar? What is good effect of mosque demolition? Raw banana? Another example of flop show? Cause of BJP rally? To illustrate the show of a party in power in Delhi? Effect? Raw banana? Let the future judge. However, by the law of cause and effect, flop rally can be defined. Flop movement can be defined. TMC or BJP, master of many flop show. Ask the people of Ayodhya. What benefit you got? Ask the people of singur. What benefit you got ? If it is not raw banana, then what else?
