Thanks to TOI for providing a clear picture of the disdainful attack on people who went with relief for the hungry, sick and dying adivasis of Chattisgarh.
Agnivesh deserves respect and support for his mission
I agree with HA.
This is not the first precedent of attack on Swami Agnivesh. Few days ago he was violently tormented by Chattisgarh police. These incidents clearly exposes the utter disregard of our state to human rights and its supporters. Agnivesh is being made the subject of attack because like some other right activists he is fighting for the rights of soil-water-jungle of tribals across the underdeveloped parts of India against the vested interests of multinational companies who are willing to make our motherland their vulnerable prey. The leftist political parties are also silent because they know it well that a comparatively less known face like Agnivesh wouldnt affect their traditional rural vote bank especially in W.B and Kerala where the common rural people till now not well aqauinted with the names like Agnivesh. So, I think, it is upto the civil society to carry on this protest movement against the attack on Agnivesh more further. At the end, once again, I strongly condemn the incident.
