The Research Management Specialist (RMS) Certificate recognizes individuals who have mastered the core principles of research management through SRAI’s LevelUP modules and mGuides. It reflects both your foundational knowledge and your ability to think critically across the research lifecycle—from pre-award to post-award to compliance.

Earning the certificate highlights your commitment to excellence, continuous learning, and the evolving field of research administration.

Certificate Requirements

To earn the RMS Certificate, SRAI members must:

  Complete a total of 39 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) by finishing approved LevelUP modules and mGuides.

  Submit a case study that demonstrates your ability to apply what you’ve learned in a real-world context.

  Fulfill all requirements within three years of starting the program.

This certificate is available exclusively to SRAI members.

This program is tailored for individuals who aspire to establish a career in research administration and are dedicated to embarking on a comprehensive journey to enhance their professional knowledge and skills.

Upon completion, you will be sent a Certificate and Digital Badge to showcase your hard work! The Digital Badge can be showcased on various social media platforms and in your email signature for everyone to recognize your accomplishment. 

Yes, you must complete the certificate in three years. However, your registration for the courses is valid for 365 days following your purchase. If you do not finish you must renew your registration to receive access. Modules can be completed individually, or you can register for our subscription.

Only CEUs from the LevelUP Micro-credential Program are eligible for the RMS certificate. This is a unique, self-contained program that offers both capacity building and competency demonstration for modern research administration professionals. The curriculum and structure for LevelUP are governed by an independent Council to maintain educational integrity and a high level of quality control.
