Higgs Boson

The Higgs boson has nothing to do with ‘GOD’ in any religion or mythology. The scientific theories trying to explain the creation of the universe required that a particle with certain properties named the Higgs boson (after Peter Higgs in 1960) should exist. This particle explains the presence of ‘mass’ in the universe. However, it had not been detected experimentally for about half a century. Now finally it seems the particle is proved to exist, so the theory is validated.

I totally agree with Asok Das. This time, it really created confusion. It was evident from the continuous TV news coverage with loud emphasis on the word ‘god’. People who have no interest in scientific discoveries or inventions were also glued to the TV for a totally mistaken & misunderstood reason. Anyway ABP write ups by Bikash Sinha & Pathik Guha were sensible and enlightening.
Thanks to Sujata Tarafdar for her timely brief passage. It is good enough for laymen.
I agree with Ashok Das. Science should be called Science. God believer are requested not to cover up anything else with the cover of God.
I totally agree with Mr Das and Sumitradi, I think some Media trying to washing the brain of a lot of croud with the name of God by the science.
Mr ashoke kumar Das is correct the use of the term god particle should be stopped that speading to much misconception among the common people . Medias are most responsible for this
