Right to Information
“However noble a law or an institution may be, the government of the day can kill it by simply appointing a weak, ineffective and pliable person at its head. Almost all central and state governments have been killing institutions systematically.”
These lines have come from the strong RTI (Right to Informtion)campaigner and Magsaysay award-winner activist Arvind Kejriwal. A number of activists from civil society are pressurising the government for the candidature of former police chief Ms. Kiran Bedi as the Chief Information Commissioner. Along with him are eminent people from all walks of life, like Anna Hazare, Aamir Khan, Narayana Murthy of Infosys, Shabana Azmi and others.
