We stand by the people of Kashmir

Kashmir was a sovereign state at the time when India was under the British rule. On 27th October, 1947, the then Indian Government headed by Late Jawaharlal Nehuru, propelled its military to Kashmir, with the one and only aim to capture that self-governing nation.

Thereafter, the Security Council of the United Nations had repeatedly suggested the Indian Government to conduct a referendum, so that the people of Kashmir can themselves make a decision on their political future…whether to remain an integral part of India or go with Pakistan or stay as a free & independent nation. India too had time and again viewed its concurrence to such proposal, but in reality never allowed such referendum to take place.

The people of Kashmir had been able to hang on to a part of their land, and kept it under their control. Such territory is acknowledged as “Azad (free) Kashmir”. This region of Kashmir is not under the command of Pakistan, instead, it is a self-governing province. The populace living their have their own flag, which is dissimilar to the one of Pakistan. Further, they have their own President and Supreme Court which are again autonomous and function independently. This Azad Kashmir had a bilateral agreement with Pakistan only in matters such as Foreign Policy, Finance, Border Security and Telecommunication.

It was settled that the people residing in Azad Kashmir as well as India occupied Kashmir, shall take part in the referendum, cited above, to decide on their future, i.e. whether to be a part of India or Pakistan or to remain as a self-governing nation.

And yes… there is no state sponsored fright and atrocities in Azad Kashmir, and thus incidents of mass agitation and protests are nil. The UN had black listed India for its illegitimate foray and incursion of Kashmir. No, they didn’t do so with Pakistan.

We strongly demand an immediate public poll or referendum in terms of the proposal of UN or leave it on the people of Kashmir to decide on their future.

Let India not hold on the territory through shocking state terror devices such as clod blooded assassinations, blazing up of houses and so on.

““The UN had black listed India for its illegitimate foray and incursion of Kashmir.”

And, what does this mean? Does not UN losing its charm and potency.

I am doubtful if I read the whole article (for lots of it appeared degenerated) but how come the author ignoresPak-backed ‘kabaili attack’ on the very ‘sovereign’ state called Kashmir, then under the stupid king Hari Singh!

Should have India watched the religious genocide griping whole of Kashmir than to intervene on request from its ruler??

The article is apologetic to Pakistan and borders on being anti-India.

World Bank is under control of “United Nation”. The World Bank has refused to accept Indian Occupied Kashmir as an integral part of India and has rather insisted upon a disclaimer from the Jammu and Kashmir government that funding for a project will not be seen as recognition of India’s territorial claim on the state.

The author is so ill-informed on Kashmir that he has conveniently forgotten to mention the plight of Northern areas. Please read the following to have more insight in a snapshot.
